Delivery & Shipping

How long does delivery take?

UK orders are typically dispatched within 2–3 working days and delivered via Royal Mail. Standard delivery usually takes 2–5 working days after dispatch. You'll receive a confirmation email once your order is on its way.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the UK. International shipping is something we're working towards — sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when it launches.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer flat-rate Standard shipping across the UK, calculated at checkout based on your order value:

  • Orders up to £14.99 — £2.95
  • Orders £15.00–£29.99 — £3.95
  • Orders £30.00–£44.99 — £5.50
  • Orders £45.00 and over — Free shipping

Our Products

What fabrics do you use, and are they sustainable?

We use a mix of high-quality cotton and polycotton fabrics, and upcycled/pre-loved materials. Our Second Chapter collection is made entirely from pre-loved mixed material fabrics, giving beautiful textiles a new life rather than sending them to landfill. All our products are handmade in small batches. The material composition of each product is given on their specific product pages.

How do I care for my fabric accessories?

We recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth for most items. Avoid soaking or machine washing to preserve the fabric and any interfacing. Full care instructions are included with your order.

What is the Second Chapter collection?

Second Chapter is our upcycled line. These products are made from pre-loved and reclaimed fabrics. Each piece is either one-of-a-kind, or part of a small batch, so once it's gone, it's gone. It's our way of making beautiful things more sustainably.

Where are your products manufactured?

All Dark Star Stitches products are handmade in Oxford, UK, in small batches. We take pride in making everything ourselves, which means every item gets the care and attention it deserves.

Can I request a custom fabric or design?

We occasionally take custom orders depending on availability. Drop us a message via the contact page and we'll let you know what's possible.

Orders & Returns

What is your returns policy?

We want you to love your order. If something isn't right, please get in touch within 14 days of receiving your item and we'll do our best to help. As our products are handmade, we're unable to accept returns on personalised or custom items.
